Step One
All new and/or returning applicants are required to submit a Pre-Application
proposal, prior to the submission of a full proposal. Pre-applications
should be no more than two pages, and should include the following
information:
- A brief description of your organization
and/or firm.
- Attorneys and/or firms who will be
working on the case, contact name, phone number, address and
email.

Brief summary of the case in which you are seeking funding, and how it may have a substantial impact.
- Amount of request and what it would be used for.
- How you heard about The Impact Fund's grant program.
Pre-applications are accepted on a continual
basis. Applicants who submit a Pre-application are notified
promptly whether or not to submit a full proposal.
Pre-applications may be submitted by mail, fax, or in the body of
an email (no attachments, please) to:

Step Two
Upon review of the Pre-Applications, all
grantees will receive notification either requesting or rejecting
the submission of a proposal. All applicants who are invited to
submit an application will have their applications reviewed by The
Impact Fund's Board of Advisors, who meet on a quarterly basis.
Please carefully review the Grants Deadline
page for further information. All previous grant reporting must be up to date before an applicant can apply for future funding.
A complete proposal application
should include:
- An original and 18
collated, double-sided copies of the
application, by 12pm NOON (PST) on the appropriate
deadline date.
Each copy should include the following:
- One page cover letter, which is the first page of the application (form provided)
- One page Applicant Description (form
provided)
- Proposal Summary (up to 8,
double-spaced pages)
- Detailed, Proposed Budget (form provided)
- In addition, please provide one (1)
copy of the following:
- One copy of your organization's IRS
determination letter for a 501c3 organization. (if applicable).
- Two (2) copies of the complaint (court documents),
if already drafted and/or filed.
- If you are a non-profit, please supply
two (2) copies of your most recent financial statement or audit.
If this is a group application, financial reports from all
co-applicants are required.
- Most recent status or case management
statement
- Please DO NOT submit:
- Additional documents such as: pleadings,
newspaper articles, declarations, brochures, etc.
- A full proposal application, unless
invited to do so by The Impact Fund, after the Pre-application
process.
- Please do not bind your application. Staples or binder clips are fine.
- Please waive signature requirements
on UPS, FedEx or Express Mail documents.
- E-mailed or faxed proposals will
NOT be accepted.

as both Word
and Adobe formats.
